At the Commons Committee room at the House of Commons the Rainbow Lecture Series resumed once again. July 16th saw FA Cup winning Sol Campbell speak about his storied career as a young, black sportsman. The heart-warming speech chronicled his journey as a leader of the English team, his career ups and downs and his trials with the media.

Campbell was born in Plaistow in East London to Jamaican parents. He was the youngest of twelve children and debuted professionally in Football at the age of 18 in the Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

The lecture series was hosted by Rt Hon Keith Vaz. Helen Grant, the Minister for Sports and Equalities, Baroness Howell, Rajan Singh from Sporting Equals, Paul Uppal MP and many others were also in attendance.
