Asian Lite Honours Seven Renowned British Indian's for their Extraordinary Achievements

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Asian Lite, the weekly newspapers honoured seven individuals who played a role in cementing Indo-UK relations through their work in business, culture, media and social services at their event CelebrASIANS.

Taking place at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, the highlight of the event was the Speaker of the House of Commons MP John Bercow felicitating the seven achievers.

At the event Managing Director, Here & Now 365 Manish Tiwari led the tributes towards sports journalist Mihir Bose for his outstanding contribution in the field of media and presented him with the award.

On the occasion Mr Tiwari said: “At a time when South Asians were finding it difficult to integrate within mainstream Britain, he [Mihir Bose] let his pen do the talking and through his hardwork he proved to people that a young boy from India can write about football and make a name for himself nationally.”

Others who were felicitated for their achievements were: Baroness Shreela Flather; Lord Meghnad Jagdishchandra Desai; Dr Mattur N. Nandakumara; Dr Rami Ranger CBE; Mr Thembalath Ramachandran and Zerbanoo Gifford.
